Toys for tots accept books

Some forums can only be seen by registered members. Last year, my supermarket had a Toys for Tots bin, and I bought a few children's books and threw them in there. I don't really feel secure buying children's books from used book shelves to donate to an organization, because I'm afraid that some anal volunteer sorting the donations will say "eew yuck somebody touched this" and put on a hazmat suit and take it to an environmentally approved incinerator and reduce it to scrubbed efflluent as a hazard to public health. Sometimes the bin sign nowadays will even say "new toys only". So I got the idea of spending a couple of months, before they are picked over, accumulating used children's books for about a buck apiece, and distribute them myself.
