Rick Riordan talks about his Percy Jackson series

If you know a middle grade reader who has already finished the entire Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, tackled the Kane Chronicles, and caught up with the latest Magnus Chase book . We’ve picked a few series featuring a new cast of characters that are sure to help tide.

If You Like Percy Jackson, Here’s What to Read Next

My son loved the Percy Jackson series. Let me assure you these are not all books about Greek mythology. In fact only one aside from the other Riordan titles has anything to do with ancient mythology. The thread that holds these chapter books together: they are fast paced stories of kids or in one case, cats on life changing, suspenseful adventures. Some are fantasy, some are even historical fiction. They are all terrific. I do not plan to.

This series is kid-tested and mother-approved. Or so he thinks. As the holder of the amulet, Nic suddenly possesses new magical powers, but whether he can control them is another matter entirely. We might be in the same shoes. My son just finished all the Rick Riordan books which kept us happily reading for the better part of the school year. But now we are adrift, desperately seeking more books like Percy Jackson. We also like the special powers conferred by lineage to gods. Learning about ancient Mythology from any civilization is a welcome bonus.
