Amazon Books Editors @ ninciclopedia.orgAll year, Amazon. We scour reviews and book news for tips on what the earliest readers have loved, share our own copies and tear through as many books as possible. Then we face off in a monthly Best Books meeting to champion the titles we think will resonate most with readers. In October, we collect all our favorites, look at upcoming titles, and cast our ballots for the Best Books of the Year. The titles that made our lists are the keepers, the ones we couldn't forget. Many of our editorial picks for the best books are also customer favorites and best sellers, but we love to spotlight the best books you might not otherwise have heard about, too.

Ironically, I chose to major in English in college because I loved reading books. It didn't take me long to realize that, although I read hundreds of literary works each semester, I rarely had time to read books for fun. Now that I've graduated, I have the time to read books of my own choosing. As much as I reveled in Shakespeare's tragedies and women's 19th-century literature, I couldn't be more overjoyed to pick my own books now. The only problem I face is that I don't really know where to start my search for compelling books. Thankfully, the Amazon Books team curates a selection of their favorite books each month.

All year, Amazon. We scour reviews and book news for early tips on what readers have loved, swap books amongst ourselves, and fan out to tear through as many books as possible. Then we face off in a monthly Best Books selection meeting to champion the books we think will resonate most with readers. In early summer, we look through the best books published between January and June before casting our ballots for the best books of the year so far. The titles that made our best of the month lists are considered, but we also look at books we might have missed through the selection process. Many of our editorial picks for the best books are also customer favorites and bestsellers, but we strive to spotlight the best books you might not otherwise hear about, too.
