Silos, Politics and Turf Wars - E-bok - Lencioni Patrick M Lencioni () | Bokus

Patrick Lencioni. Jossey-Bass, Silos are nothing more than the barriers that exist between departments within an organization, causing people who are supposed to be on the same team to work against one another. And whether we call this phenomenon departmental politics, divisional rivalry, or turf warfare, it is one of the most frustrating aspects of life in any sizable organization. Now, sometimes silos do indeed come about because leaders at the top of an organization have interpersonal problems with one another.

Pat Lencioni tackles a prominent symptom of corporate frustration: silos, the invisible barriers that separate work teams, departments and divisions, causing people who are supposed to be on the same team to work against one another. According to Pat, silos—and the turf wars they enable—devastate organizations by wasting resources, killing productivity and jeopardizing results. Silos, Politics, and Turf Wars provides leaders with powerful advice on how to eliminate the structural obstacles that derail organizations. Urging leaders to provide a compelling context for their employees to work together, Pat's model gives leaders a simple tool for enabling clarity, unity and alignment in their organizations. Scratch that. Who says bigger business books are better? The real value of a book is how it changes your outlook and, at least to some extent, what practical difference it makes in what you do. Based on that, I think Silos, Politics and Turf Wars is one of the top business books of any size or at any price. The first 85 percent or so of this book is the fable of Jude Cousins, a self-employed management consultant who eventually develops a practice that helps companies beat the silo problem. It helps to bring to life the principles he has uncovered.

#2 In The O.D. Series: Silos, Politics & Turf Wars

As with his other books, Lencioni writes Silos, Politics, and Turf Wars as a fictional—but eerily realistic—story. The story is about Jude Cousins, an eager young management consultant struggling to launch his practice by solving one of the more universal and frustrating problems faced by his clients. Through trial and error, he develops a simple yet ground-breaking approach for helping them transform confusion and infighting into clarity and alignment. As a consultant and keynote speaker, he has worked with thousands of senior executives in organizations ranging from Fortune s and high-tech start-ups to universities and nonprofits.
