Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger both cite their extensive reading habits as a major cornerstone of their success. Over the years they've shared book recommendations — and insights gained from their favorite reads — with Berkshire Hathaway shareholders. Warren Buffett says Benjamin Graham, his former teacher, employer, and mentor, laid the foundation for his own investing philosophy. He consistently recommends Graham's "The Intelligent Investor" to his shareholders and followers. Buffett recommends a lighter read. Charlie Munger shares a few of his favorite recent books, including one about Buffett, at the Berkshire annual meeting.

Widely regarded as one the most successful investors in the world, Warren Buffett began his business and investing ventures in while attending the University of Pennsylvania. He started various business partnerships at an early age and together with Charlie Munger created Buffett Partnership, which will be later called Berkshire Hathaway after acquiring the textile manufacturing firm with the same name. These partnerships made him a millionaire by the early 60s and he became a billionaire in when Berkshire Hathaway began selling class A shares. His successful investing career made Warren Buffett a high profile business person and in it was reported that there are around 50 books written about him or his investing strategies. Almost all successful entrepreneurs mention reading as one of their habits, but perhaps no one emphasizes reading as an attribute to success more than Buffett.

That comment is what really kickstarted my own reading habits. It was a fabulous human achievement. And neither of the writers is a physicist. This book will make you sick. How the Scots Invented the Modern World A lot of really important stuff like: the first modern nation, the first literate society, the ideas for modern democracy and free markets, all originated with the Scots. Simon, a remarkable polymath who more people should know about.
